Hello Friends,
I pray your Thanksgiving was full of gratitude and joy for the small things in your life. I am thankful for a year that brought us incredible clients, sharing personal successes. I look forward to celebrating Holiday cheer with our Balans family.
Our health is such a contributor to life’s ups and downs - from how we handle additional stress to our ability to enjoy a friendly snowball fight. We really can control so much of our well-being, so I encourage you to embrace health and fitness as a constant in your life.
This season and into the New Year, Balans is bringing you customized group classes that provide caring motivation and positive challenges. We are happy to announce the expansion of our Private Training, Private Yoga and Private BarWorks. We are increasing our focus on nutrition assistance and are launching Whole Living Nutrition this month and TRX® No Limits kicks off this month.

Balans invites you to enjoy the “entire studio effect” this winter. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned yogi, perhaps the greatest uplifting gift you can give is to yourself. Balans holiday yoga is all set for the amazing ahhhh: perfect lighting, high ceilings, a spacious calm, and enticing aromas such as eucalyptus, peppermint, and cinnamon.
We teach the traditional roots of yoga: pranayama (breathing techniques), how to create tapas (internal heat) created by utilizing the ujjayi (victorious) breath and movement while purifying the body. By combining the breath and movement, an internal heat improves the circulation, eliminates toxins and washes away stress and the winter blues. Let this inner fire flow into your everyday life and keep you toasty this winter. After savasana (final relaxation pose) certified pure therapeutic oils applied on the temples and meridians of the body will warm the body and deepen your practice even further!

This 55 minute class has clout. It builds strength and improves conditioning by utilizing varied functional movements at high intensity. In addition to increasing cardiovascular endurance, you will improve your strength and power. The class begins with warm up and mobility work. As we move through the workout the focus is on coordination, speed, and agility. Cool down includes a recovery session that enhances your flexibility and balance. Your future workouts will reap the benefits of this energetic, no-limit class.

Season's Eatings Designed to Last.
One of the most challenging parts of a fitness routine is finding a delicious, nutritious meal plan you can live with, especially during the holidays. Well, don’t starve yourself, your body will shut down and stop burning calories.
Food is our fuel for exercise, to change our body composition, and ward off disease.
If you are putting in the workout time, and disappointed with the results – the culprit may be your diet. |
In this season of sugarplums, start making smarter nutrition choices.
Here are a few simple tips:
Choose whole grains such as a whole grain English muffin versus the croissant.
Choose fruits and nuts with antioxidants and disease fighting nutrients versus high-sugar desserts.
Dark green veggies (low fat, high vitamin) are excellent cooked quickly or raw.
Most dairy products have a fat-free or low fat alternative.
Beans, peas & lentils offer a protein/fiber rich alternative without the cholesterol and fat of some meats.
If you must buy processed food, always read labels to check for fats, sugars, fiber, and sodium.
