Pilates is all about your core. We are walking upright and want to stay that way. The deep abdominal muscles that support your spine are essential for strength, flexibility, and posture.
Based on the works of Joseph Pilates, this focused system promotes full breath as well as healthy joints. Classes emphasize concentration, precision movements, and breath awareness while opening joints and releasing tension. You will increase strength, stability, and lower stress. The therapeutic benefits can even provide relief from chronic back pain.
These exercises focus on the mind-body connection help get you centered and relieve strain. For those that cannot endure the stress of weights or running, this is a great way to stengthen your body.
