Studio Cancellations
If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather or an emergency, there will be an announcement on the studio’s voice mail, two hours or more before the class is scheduled to begin. Balans Studio reserves the right to cancel a class under extreme circumstances. Earliest notification will be given via web updates, studio’s voice mail and postings on our doors.
Refunds
There are no refunds for class cards or gift certificates.
Injuries/Physical Limitations
We have a wide range of classes to accommodate people with various physical conditions. Please let your teacher know about any physical problems or medical conditions you have before the class begins.
Privacy
We value and respect your privacy. We will not sell, loan, rent, trade or give away your personal information to anyone. We will send you emails about the status of your orders, news about the studio, new products, services, and promotions. We will provide an easy mechanism for you to "opt out" of receiving email not directly related to an online order.

Remove Your Shoes (Yoga)
For Yoga, please take your shoes to your locker instead of into the classroom.
Turn Off Your Cell Phone
Do this as soon as you get to the studio; no calls or texting for the duration of the class. If you forget, some teachers prefer to ignore the ring of a wayward phone and will let you know of their preference.
Arrive On Time - LEAVE ON TIME
Arrive at least 10 minutes before the class start. If you do arrive late, don't enter more than 10 minutes late, as we need to close the class. Wait for the next class or another day. If you need to leave early, make arrangements with your instructor before class begins.
Respect the Teacher
When you enter any class, you sign on to respect the teacher for the duration of the class. You may discover halfway through the class, that the style, or hour of the day, doesn’t work for you. You still should continue, follow the teacher's instructions, and make different arrangements for the next time.
Keep Variations Appropriate
Keep in mind the level of the class you are attending. For yoga, please refrain from doing your own poses. If it is an advanced class and some of the poses or positions and exercises are too hard, it is fine to practice a more basic variation.
Usually the teacher will offer this option. If you are attending a basic class, stick to the basic versions so you don't confuse new students. The teacher will offer you the option to take a more advanced variation when appropriate.
Don't Skip Savasana (Yoga), or Cool Downs
Your final relaxation is an important part of your practice. Don't plan to leave class early. If you must, tell the teacher in advance.
