Josefin Persson Kennedy R.Y.T. Yoga 200 Hours and TRX®
Josefin is motivational force and founder of Balans Studio. Seeing her vision realized has been a thrill. She has brought together fitness (cardio-strength and flexibility), nutrition, Swedish style and community responsibility.

Josefin (yo-sa-fin) grew up in a small town in southern Sweden. This instilled an appreciation for walking, running, biking, soccer, and doing cross country for most of her youth. Later Josefin taught gymnastics, jazz, and aerobics. Moving, eating good natural food, appreciating nature and time for reflection, taught her to embrace a more holistic lifestyle. Yoga provided an additional level of enrichment incorporating physical health as well as a peaceful and focused mind.

Josefin loves the fact that beauty is more than outward appearances; it is also the power of inner beauty through mind and body that shapes our lives. She appreciates how the body will let you know what is good and what is not.

Josefin holds a Bachelors degree in Interior and Environmental Design from UCLA. She received her certification in Yoga through YogaWorks and is a member of Yoga Alliances. She is also a certified TRX® Suspension Training Group Course instructor. After living in the US south and west, Josefin and her husband, two beautiful daughters and King, their crazy golden retriever are happy to call Northern Virginia home.

“My vision for Balans Studio is to bring to you a place where you can take care of your whole body with exercise, nutrition and a whole-life approach. When life allows: splurge a little and remember to enjoy the journey.”  — Josefin Persson Kennedy

Jaimis Huff - Yoga

Jaimis began practicing yoga nearly five years ago after being introduced to the practice by her mother, who is her greatest teacher.  After a debilitating neck injury in 2011, yoga became a part of her daily life.  Through the practice, she learned to manage the pain in her neck and also found strength on a much deeper level both mentally and physically.  In the midst of a chaotic world, she believes yoga is the foundation for learning how to slow down, breathe, stay present and let go.

After receiving her 200-hour training at Black Swan Yoga in Austin, Texas, she returned to Northern Virginia with an open heart, excited to give back by sharing the practice with others. Her intention is to help students tap into deeper levels of strength within their mind, body and spirit, both on and off the mat.  She enjoys teaching creative, flowing, wave-like sequences that are intended to challenge the mind and body and leave you feeling free and uplifted.  It is her wish that students leave class feeling inspired and with a greater sense of trust in who they truly are.  "When you search your soul, you find your light." -Sonia Choquette
