I, currently an eRYT200, was introduced to yoga in 2001 as a way to of lowering stress and anxiety. I had experienced panic attacks while attending Virginia Tech and wanted an alternative to control my anxiety. Subsequently, I attended the American Healing Arts Yoga School in Fredriksburg, Va. The training in Integral Hatha Yoga, also known as a complete yoga, was an extensive, two-year course, that focuses on asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy. After many years of teaching I continued my training thru Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow teacher training.
Currently, with the combination of all the different styles of my training, I have been able to introduce a slightly more fluid approach to the art of yoga. The reason I became a yoga teacher is to introduce this amazing mind/body technique to as many people as possible. I am also a mother of two boys (twelve years apart in age), a wife , a caretaker, and a history enthusiast.
I grew up in Manassas, Virginia and graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science. I have been teaching group exercise for 11 years at the Prince William Hospital Fitness Center and I am a Personal Trainer. My husband and I have three children ages 10, 6 and 1. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising and tending to my growing garden.
