I am a long time fitness instructor, teaching classes and personal training since 1987. I started teaching yoga in 2003 and became certified in 2015. I am also a certified Nutritional Therapist. I love everything that has to do with health and fitness! I am married to my college sweetheart, Mark and have four great daughters. At one time, we had four teenagers….
I’m born country girl, and still live on a farm. I have 2 horses, a dog, 3 cats, and 2 birds. I love to garden and I actually really really like cleaning.
My ‘Hidden’ Talent: is making awesome homemade lotions and healthy concoctions, like elderberry syrup, fire cider, and bone broths.
My ‘Weakness’: is remembering names.
Growing up in a small town in the southern part of Sweden I had a passion for sports like cross country, soccer, and gymnastics. I volunteered as a youth gymnastics coach all thru-out my teenage years. Many years ago my journey took me to Miami, Florida and I continued my passion teaching aerobics for some years.
I have an amazing husband, two beautiful daughters and a sweet Golden Retriever. I have a degree in Interior Architecture. Alongside my husband, I worked in the ministry for a decade and lived in Nashville, Tallahassee, Los Angeles, New Orleans & Northern Virginia, during the many moves, I kept my running shoes as a constant.
Having to face Lyme disease, I found Yoga in 2008 and got certified shortly thereafter with Yogaworks 200 Hours in Washington DC. In 2010, we opened the doors to Balans Studio and before opening the studio I received my TRX certification as well. It has been an amazing journey to be able to share Yoga, TRX, Barre & Pilates with so many wonderful people and excellent instructors for many years.
My ‘Hidden’ Talent: Although not a talent but a fun fact, I landed one of the Superbowl commercials in 1988 ( I know a long time ago:).

I am a STOTT Pilates certified instructor in Mat and Reformer. Additionally, I am a ACE certified group fitness instructor. I live in Warrenton with my husband, daughter, and three dogs. I was born and raised in Rockford, IL, where I developed a passion for figure skating. I also enjoy hiking, RV’ing and reading mystery novels.
My ‘Hidden’ Talent: is prior to becoming a Pilates instructor, I coached figure skating for 15 years!
My ‘Weakness’: is a mint chocolate chip shake:) and I cannot pass by a puppy!
I, currently an eRYT200, was introduced to yoga in 2001 as a way to of lowering stress and anxiety. I had experienced panic attacks while attending Virginia Tech and wanted an alternative to control my anxiety. Subsequently, I attended the American Healing Arts Yoga School in Fredriksburg, Va. The training in Integral Hatha Yoga, also known as a complete yoga, was an extensive, two-year course, that focuses on asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy. After many years of teaching I continued my training thru Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow teacher training.
Currently, with the combination of all the different styles of my training, I have been able to introduce a slightly more fluid approach to the art of yoga. The reason I became a yoga teacher is to introduce this amazing mind/body technique to as many people as possible. I am also a mother of two boys (twelve years apart in age), a wife , a caretaker, and a history enthusiast.
I am a simple girl born in Ukraine, who loves yoga and laughter! I love getting together with family and friends, around the table, with heart warming food. I am blessed to stay home with 2 boys, who keep me busy and in constant need of yoga! We have two dogs, a cat, two gold fish and two betta fish. I hold a Masters Degree in Accounting. Little known fact, I volunteer at our church as a gardener and love to see things grow.
I received my 200-hour teacher training from Flow Yoga Center in Washington DC. Studied and learned first hand from Debra Mishalove, Catherine Zack, Sam Breschi, and Cory Bryant. I enjoy going to NYC for weekend workshops and extra boost to my practice. Yoga is a huge part of my life and I cannot wait to share it with you!
My ‘Hidden Talent’: I make the best Apple Pie! Trust me, baked goods are my Everest so finding out that I CAN make a pie, is a big deal to me.
My ‘Weakness’: Is traveling! I was once considering to become a flight attendant, just so I could see the world. Love art, gardens, architecture and history!
I grew up in Manassas, Virginia and graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science. I have been teaching group exercise for 11 years at the Prince William Hospital Fitness Center and I am a Personal Trainer. My husband and I have three children ages 10, 6 and 1. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising and tending to my growing garden.

My wife Natalie and I, are originally from South Carolina. We moved to NOVA four years ago and currently live in Warrenton. We don’t have any cats or dogs. But we do have a pet frog named Tiny! As a fitness professional, I have led one-on-one training, small group training, and fitness classes. I am a certified Personal Trainer with NASM.
